Small English Skeleton Clock

£SOLD
image_pdfimage_print

A good mid 19th century English fusee skeleton clock under a glass dome.

The polished eight-day fusee movement strikes the passing of the hour, just once each hour.

The Gothic styled hand-polished brass frames are united by six turned pillars. The bell is vertically mounted in the centre, struck by a teardrop brass hammer.

All brass wheels within the wheel-train have five spokes.

The pendulum rod is nicely profiled, and finishes in a solid brass bob that nicely matches the silhouette of the spring barrel, to disappear behind it each swing.

The silvered skeletonised dial has a scalloped edge and black Roman numerals.

Black matching steel hands.

The clock sits on a black ebonised wooden base under an antique glass dome.

The clock is overhauled and guaranteed for 3 years.
