The mahogany case has a hinged side access door, and curved base door for access to the pendulum.
The 12-inch repainted iron dial is signed Foord & Son, Hastings.
The spun brass bezel is fitted with flat glass.
James Foord (1829-1883) and his son James Foord (1859-1911) are well-documented on the internet by an ancestor keen on genealogy, and operated as Foord & Son from 1886-1888.
