The Heritage Collection, “The Calendar Clock”

ASTROLOGY-CALENDAR-CLOCK

Made in 1984, this astrological calendar clock was originally part of a limited edition of 500 pieces, created by Devon Clocks for The Heritage Collection.

Devon Clocks made clocks of high quality; at its head was designer and clockmaker John Mercer, who for many years had been responsible for Charles Frodsham clock workshops. We have sold and serviced several Devon Clocks orrery clocks, with similar movements to this calendar clock.

The clock consists of a four posted brass frame supporting two skeletonised movements, linked through an exterior drive spindle. The lower movement utilises a double barrel drive, wound from the underside of the base, and drives two separate silvered hour and minute rings. The time is read from a fixed pointer.

The upper movement is powered by a drive spindle from the lower movement and operates the date / date / Zodiac sign pointer.

The circular mahogany base has applied brass plaques, with the serial number engraved – this is number 6 of 500.

The clock is protected beneath a glass dome.

Height: 12 inches (31cm) over dome

Diameter: 9 inches (23 cms)

The condition of the clock is as new. There is no signs of ageing to the silvered surfaces even.

Complete with the original Heritage Collection paperwork. The clock is sold with a 3-year guarantee following a comprehensive overhaul of the movements, and the price includes delivery within the UK mainland.
