The Faberge Mystery Clock from the Franklin Mint

The Swiss-made Fabergé Mystery Clock from The Franklin Mint, dated 1988.

The mystery is that the hands appear to have no driving mechanism. The battery-powered quartz mechanism hidden in the base drives 2 discs; one for the hour hand and one for the minute hand. The discs rotate by a spiral gear contained within the column of the clock.

The elegant brass case has 24k gold plating and black lacquer. It is set with 28 pearls including 12 that indicate the hours. The rear bezel is engraved.

Part of  limited edition of 750.

The clock is presented for sale in excellent condition.
