Silver Antique Carriage clock with Mirror mask

£SOLD
image_pdfimage_print

An early 1900s French striking repeating 8-day carriage clock, the corniche-style case plated in nickel silver plated brass, in very good original condition.

Nickel plating has some advantages over silver-plating as it does not tarnish so readily.

The perfect white enamel dial ring has Arabic numerals with a minute track. It is very unusually set into a mirror polished dial mask with conforming centre.

The 8-day striking and repeating movement strikes the hours and the passing of the half hour on a gong. Depressing the button on the top of the case will repeat the last hour struck. The movement retains its original silvered platform. The movement is photographed here awaiting servicing, but will be overhauled and guaranteed for 3 years.

Matching black steel spade hands.

Perfect beveled glasses to all sides and top.

  • Height: 6¾ inches with the carrying handle up.
