Month-going Vienna Regulator Timepiece

Regulator-wall-clock

An exceptionally elegant timepiece Vienna regulator wall clock of long duration, dating from the c.1840s.

The classic pale yew wood and burr yew case has satinwood stringing to the canted corner edges. The top is mounted with an architectural pediment. Both base and pediment have a very narrow frieze of ormolu decor, repeated as bases and capitals to the door corners. The case sides are fully glazed.

The long-duration movement has the earlier type of fixed, non-adjustable dead-beat pallets. It slides into the case on parallel runners. The top of the pendulum has a beat adjustment screw.

The white enamel dial is in perfect condition, with original matching hands.
