Mahogany Stick Barometer by Edmund Wells, London

A George III mahogany barometer with well-engraved silvered dial signed Edmund Wells, London.

The break-arch pediment has a pineapple brass finial, over the engraved silvered brass register plate, signed by the maker and bearing a manually-operated vernier.

The trunk, of finely patinated herringbone mahogany, has chevron stringing to the edge, and with the original exposed barometer tube terminating within a hemispherical cistern cover.

Overhauled and guaranteed for three years.
