This is a fine example of a mahogany cased electric wall clock, dating from the 1920s. When new, these clocks could be regulated to an accuracy of +/- 1 sec/day.
The pendulum drives the motionwork by an electromagnetic system, powered with a 1.5V battery.
The movement is mounted on a white marble slab.
The perfect white dial is 15cm in diameter, signed Electrique Brillié, with Roman numerals and large centre seconds hand.
Half second pendulum with Invar steel rod, 25cm long, specially constructed to avoid variations in temperature. It has a large bronze spherical bob over a curved magnet.
