A finely made Arabesque frame skeleton timepiece with passing strike, under an oval glass dome, and mounted on a white marble plinth.
The pierced silvered chapter ring has black Roman numerals mounted on a substantial five pillar scrolled frame, with single train fusee movement and six spoke wheelwork, anchor escapement and passing strike on a single bell. The compensated pendulum is characteristic of Evans of Handsworth, thus although unsigned, this clock could be attrubuted to him.
Dated to the second half of the 19th century.
Height, including the dome is 20½" (52cm) Width 13" (33cms) Depth 8" (20cms)
