Gilt striking mantel clock by Raingo Fréres

A very elegant French Empire ormolu two train mantel clock of small proportions, by this eminent maker.

The 8-day movement is signed Raingo Fréres with outside countwheel striking on a bell, dated c.1840.

An orrery by Raingo Fréres is exhibited at the London Science Museum, Windsor Cstle and the Soane Museum.

The 3.5" white dial is in perfect original condition, with original matching moon hands.

The slim architectural breakfront pillared case is surmounted by an arched top and oval urn. The original gilding is in excellent condition.
