The lancet top fruitwood case has fine brass inlay, lionhead masks to the sides over the arched sound frets and stands on ball feet.

The twin fusee movement has anchor escapement and rack striking on a bell, with a strike silent lever above 12 o'clock. The backplate has an engraved border.

7 inch repainted dial signed Thwaites, London, with unusual wavy blued steel spade hands.

The movement and case are numbered 4954, and the movement is also signed to Thwaites.
According to the Thwaites numbering system in English Dial Clocks by Ronlad Rose, this dates the clock at 1812.
