Winterhalder & Hofmeier were prolific makers of fine quality clocks, even their entry-level domestic clocks are particularly good quality and well made Their finer quality clocks were as good as any manufacturer of their day. The clock factory in Neustadt-Schwarzenbach Friedenweiler , Germany continued until the early 1930s.
This clock would have been an expensive clock of its era and would have been a direct competitor to its English counterpart. These ting tang movements can be seen in lots of case styles and are beautifully made.
