An early Victorian Domestic Regulator Longcase clock, by Thomas Bunyan, Manchester, in a mahogany case with glazed arch trunk door, the hood with a carved foliate surround to the dial.
14" round painted dial in excellent original condition, with matching fleur de lys hands, and centre seconds.
Sunstantial four pillar movement with dead beat escapement and maintaining power.
Gilded wood rod pendulum and beautifully engineered pivoted pulleys with six crossings to carry the brass lead filled weights.
Typical of a regulator, it has a silvered and engraved scale below the pendulum for accurate set up and monitoring.
Thomas Bunyan is listed in the 1855 Slaters Directory of Lancashire trade directory as working at 25 Market Place, Manchester.
