A fine turn of the 1900s mahogany longcase clock in the George III style, in prime original condition.

The eight-day two-train movement has anchor escapement and rack strike on a gong.

The arched brass dial has a silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds dial, inscribed with the retailer's name, W. Carter & Son, SALISBURY, the arch with sunburst, and ornate spandrels to the corners.

The case stands at 244cm (8 feet), and has brass capped pilasters and is surmounted with three brass ball and spire finials.
