Small Strike Repeat Carriage Clock by Drocourt

SOLD
Ref: 1316
This completely original carriage clock has a small gilded case in the gorge style, with a large top glass to view the original silvered lever platform escapement.

The 8 day movement strikes the hours and the passing of the half hours on a coiled gong, with an hour repeat mechanism by depressing the button on the top of the case. It carries Drocourt's signature cartouche, and is numbered 34937.

The case is also numbered on the bottom, and so is the base plate.

This carriage clock can be dated to the late 1880s, at the end of Drocourt's clock-making days, as it carries one of the highest of his serial numbers. His last clock was in 1889, numbered 35233.

The photographs show the clock in its pre-serviced condition, but it is priced to include a full overhaul and a three year guarantee.

Height to top of the carrying handle: 6 inches
