A lovely four glass mercury wheel barometer in a rich satinwood case, surrounded with ebonised stringing, and surmounted with architectural pediment and central brass urn.
The 8" silvered barometer dial is finely engraved, with a concave brass bezel and convex glass fitted with a brass set hand operated by the brass knob below the dial.
Removable arched thermometer box, fitted with a mercury barometer with silvered register plate.
Hygrometer to the top, and name plate below, signed M. Wisker, Optician York.
Made by Garner & Marney, probably dated early part of the twentieth century, as a super quality reproduction of a barometer dating from the 1830-40s.
