1820s George III mahogany stick barometer

A stick barometer in excellent original condition, by John Hoffmeyer, Birmingham, circa 1820.

The mahogany case has a swan neck pediment and glazed door with brass hook catch, the trunk with thumb-nail mouldings over a moulded cistern cover with turned centre.

The engraved silvered register plate has a vernier scale adjust to the side, and is signed John Hoffmeyer, Birmingham.
